![]() ![]() All I want for social games is that if one team has players with skills that would equate to, say ranks 1, 10, 15 and 25 in a competitive playlist, then the other team should have a similar distribution of talent. In competitive, yes I expect to be paired with and against people of similar ranks. I agree that social and competitive games are two different animals and I don’t want them to be the same. It would also be great if they tried to avoid matching solo players against parties of more than 2 (or something like this). Has 343 mentioned what parameters (if any) that they consider when putting teams together in MCC social matchmaking? Even if it increased wait times to get a match started, using career stats, past few game stats and even competitive playlist rankings to build more balanced teams in social games would be awesome. I understand that I could go to competitive games where ranking is presumably more of an input when the server is putting teams together, but most of the competitive playlists are either completely dead or have very few players. I know these situations have always existed in Halo and other similar games, but it seems like it is happening in almost 50% of the MCC games I have played over the past few months, which is absurd. This type of game happens a lot, along with the ones where people quit early, and it’s really no fun for either team. My three teammates all had career K/D’s under 1 and no competitive playlist rank over 1. Every player on their team had career K/D’s over 2 and highest competitive playlist rankings of more than 25. ![]() The server’s ability to put together matches with balanced/similar skill players has always been so-so, but these past few months have seemed much worse.Ī few minutes ago, I went solo in Social Games 4v4 team slayer and paired with three others (2 quit halfway through) and finished a game where the opposing team won 50-8. Hate them.Like others, I love Halo and have played hundreds if not thousands of online multiplayer games on MCC over the years. After 5k hours in Destiny it's really hard for me to get used to Halo controls again, and not being able to ADS. The fact you could basically walk up to any discarded vehicle in the environment and get in. And the enemies fighting each other? Crazy back then. Again it was the first time I'd seen anything like fighting alongside AI teammates. I still remember how crazy it was you could walk up to a rock texture and it not be a N64 style blur. Xbox stretched it's big power edge over other consoles here. Landing on the beach and storming it in that one level, the scale was unheard. The alien Vistas.that you could free roam. basically popularized the most popular genre, FPS, on console in a big way for the first time. So many things it at least brought to the console mainstream. for those who didn't play the game, imagine spending hours and hours roaming around in places that look all exactly like this:įor the time it was freaking amazing. i was legit getting nausea from turning around in the same labyrinthic purple as shit corridors. Like bruh I know the good part of Halo is in 2 and 3 according to what people told me but I wasn't expecting to play such a turd. And now they've introduced the Flood enemies and it's even more awful, there's now a shit ton of very small enemies that I have to waste my precious shotgun ammo on. I liked "The Halo" mission in the open ended area and the one that's on the beach (might be the same one) but right now I've done two missions back to back (so like, 20% of the game) that were just going through the same corridors with the same look beating up the same enemies for what felt like an eternity. I've done the first seven missions and I feel like I've played through the exact same corridors from start to finish. I'm now going through Halo CE and I know there's a decade between the games and I know it's the first in the series but holy shit it's BAD, like 3/10 level of bad. Pretty fine game, particularly the last few missions. Setting aside all the awful technical difficulties of the port, I still managed to play Reach in coop in its entirety. I'm currently discovering Halo games with the MCC rollout on PC.
